Our friend Ana at Bonggamom Finds has been lucky enough to be chosen as an official parent partner for American Girl’s new Shine On Now program that is being launched in conjunction with its virtual world InnerstarU. Shine On Now is a website where girls can sign up to be ambassadors, do tasks and earn stars which they can then donate to help a variety of children’s charities.

I’m really not liking the new AG. They repleaced they’re AWESOME books with stupid charms. Plus they’lle get lost right away. They’re supposed to say Go out and play, create! instead of Stay home and play innerstar U ( no affence ISU Lovers.. i like too..)

Well in my opinion I like the whole charms idea and they wont really get lost if you put them on the necklace also sunshine they made new create your own books for ISU so you can create your own stories

I felt they got lost way before ISU. When they stopped promoting historicals as much as the AGT’s, that was the first warning sign. Historicals are the roots of the company.
I don’t like the charms much, mostly because the are cheaply made, but I don’t really collect any AGT clothes. I might get one or two, but I’m not likley to get many.
Still say its contradictory to have Lanie and ISU in the same year. And kinda funny.
Lena I do understand how you think they got lost because if them not promoting historicals as much but in my opinion I still think that ISU was a good idea becasue it lets girls get a chance to be themselves which many pople these days are doing the opposite of.

I agree that ISU was a good idea. Many companies are turning to virtual worlds because that’s what kids these days understand. But at the same time, I think takes away from the original aspect of being part of history. I mean, its a University, its meant to have history classes, right? And yet CS has clearly said they won’t be doing anything historical with it any time soon.

I never liked the JLY/MAGs as much as the historicals. They didn’t seem as special to me.
