American Girl Molly and Emily to be Retired

We knew it was coming, but we didn’t know when. Rumors of Molly and Emily being the next American Girl Historical characters to be retired (or archived – call it what you will) have been going around for quite a while and they have surfaced quite a bit lately, too.

But now it has been confirmed. Unofficially.

American Girl Molly and Emily to retire

Agoverseasfan has seen the newest American Girl catalog and took this photo. You can see more about Molly and Emily’s retirement and their collection in her video on YouTube.

I assume they will continue to sell Molly and Emily and their collection until they are gone. I am glad I got my Molly and we have had Emily for ages. Now to decide what I want from their collection before it is gone.

What do you think?

  6. Maddy says:

I’ve wanted Emily for a long time, but I probably won’t be able to save up enough money by the time she retires. :( ????

  7. Sue says:

I think that the next doll will be a 1950s or very early 1960s so the current grandmas who were girls at that time can share their own stories with girls and buy miniature versions of their childhoods. I know a lot of moms who like Julie for that reason. So my bet is a 50s doll followed a year or two later by an 1980s doll.
