I bet you thought I forgot about you today! Well, I didn’t – things were just cr-a-a-a-zy busy here. So, to make it up to you, instead of just showing you four dolls modeling the same outfit, I added an extra doll tonight.
Today we are looking at a retired American Girl outfit for the 18″ dolls. It is called the Everyday Play outfit and it came out in 2011. When it first came out, it wasn’t on my wish list, as a matter of fact, I am not sure I even paid attention to it. The outfit consists of a light blue mock turtleneck shirt with flowers on the lower part of the sleeve, a tiered corduroy jumper dress and bluish gray ankle boots. The original price was $30 but we got it for half that (roughly) during one of the summer sales.
In the first photo we have Madame Alexander/Dollie & Me, Lucy wearing it. The entire outfit, including the boots fit her very well!
Next it is over to Erin, a slim body 18″ doll from Carpatina. The top and dress are rather loose on her but since there is no real shape to the dress, it looks just fine on her. I thought the ankle boots would look ridiculous with Erin’s thin legs, so I just had her keep her silver flats on.
Springfield doll Abby wanted to give the outfit a go, too. The top and dress fit her well and look good with her blonde hair. Springfield dolls have different sized feet from the American Girl dolls and not all of the shoes are interchangeable. The ankle boots fit Abby perfectly! No problems getting them on or off.
American Girl Saige said there was NO WAY she was wearing those silly ankle boots and opted for a cool pair of cowboy boots instead. Coconut doesn’t really care what she has on her feet as long as she shares her cookie!
Now, American Girl Bitty Baby Daisy looks as sweet as can be in this dress! I actually think this outfit is more suited for Bitty Baby or the twins anyhow – right down to the ankle boots. And again, Coconut just wants that cookie!!
Which doll do you think wears the Everyday Play outfit best?
