American Girl dolls will be featured July 26 on QVC. It will be part of their Christmas in July feature. Right now it is not known which dolls will be sold or what kind of discount will be in place. I may just have to watch it Sunday morning to see for myself.
If you visit the QVC site, you can see the promo video that features Chrissa, Elizabeth, Bitty Twins and two horses (Felicity & Elizabeth’s). The dolls will air from midnight to 1 a.m. and again from 10-11 am on Sunday.
And Lissie came with pretty loose legs for a new doll. I am not going to exchange her because I have already bonded with her and it may be too late to do that even if I wanted to, but it means that her legs are going to get looser faster. I need to restring my dolls. Kirsten is the worst. She is so floppy! The others just need touch-ups on their limbs. Has anyone ever re-strung their doll? I am a little nervous about doing it.
The loose legs are because Mattel is looking every wich way to cut costs. They stopped using clamps, and make knot. Knots come untied…. sigh, AG you’ve once again proven your incompetence in dolls.
I’d suggest you send Kirsten to a proffessional.
I remember asking AG why they raised the prices of the outfits up to $8 apiece, and they came up with some excuse like “We didn’t want to cut quality, so we were forced to raise prices due to rising costs …”. If they’re replacing the clamps with flimsy knots, then yeah, that’s cutting quality!

My Lindsey doll has really loose arms and legs. I was thinking of trying to restring her, but I’m afraid to because she is a GOTY. I don’t want to send her to AG to the hospital for loose arms and legs though.

I’m ready for some upcoming doll news. It’s kind of funny since I haven’t even opened my Rebecca yet. I’m getting antsy for the GOTY 2010 news. Here’s hoping she won’t be white. AG has gone through a good chunk of the possible appearances for white dolls and I’m hoping for some variety, like Sonali with an actual book.
I’m heavily leaning toward Chrissa, and the deal will be sealed if I like her outfit that will be released soon. I don’t want to regret passing her up. I’m definitely going to order from QVC the minute she’s re-released in October. No tax and reasonable shipping costs are the best!
Gwen and Sonali … there’s a very slim chance I’ll get them now because Chrissa is priority.
Ok, on my trip, we had 2 look 4 our chaperones (no not hide and seek!) and one of the boys saw one (not the one we were looking 4) and yelled “RUN!!” and he ran the opposite direction and then yelled “ARMY CRAWL!” and went on his stomach and did an army crawl. It was hilarious! (sry bout all the yelling!)
I got Chrissa the day she was released, so I don’t have to worry about that. Is there for sure going to be a release of new clothes for her? I hope they have some for Gwen and Sonali if there is. Although, I don’t think I’ll be able to afford all I want to get of her collection if there are new items this fall.
I am also hoping that the new GOTY isn’t white. I’d really like to see someone who is Middle Eastern or maybe Asian or Hawaiian. She could move here and have to learn a new language. It would be really cool if she was adopted. So many families are adopting kids. Or, if she is white, that she is really interesting. For example, if she had a serious medical condition or something like that, something real. She could have braces on her legs or her story could be about taking chemo. Something like that. Or maybe she could be a foster kid or be adopted as well.
Last month, I suggested an adopted girl from another place in the world. We think alike, Aaryana! I’d like to see a new face mold.
Lena said that Gwen and Sonali will not be getting new outfits. Ever. Bummer. Chrissa will definitely be getting another, though.

Chrysanthenum, I have 3 Karito Kids, and I heavily recomend them. They’re really beautiful in life, and make very good older sisters to AG.
I think the new goty should be african-american or hispanic,and either be a foster kid,works at a zoo,or is going through a big problem,like chrissa but more serious.

Not anorexia. That’s a topic for older girls (tweens and teens) that would give AG a lot of criticism. Divorce would be good, but Julie’s books already covered that.
African. I want an Africa. They’ve had 2 asians, 1 latina, and the rest were white. I want my black girl.
I hear you, Lena. And I am with you as well. I want to see a new mold with the bitty twin type of hair and a really realistic and pretty wardrobe (not all pink and not all items that kids today don’t wear). I don’t like Chrissa’s meet dress, especially on her, and I have never seen anyone in that type of dress. Her swim outfit and warm up outfit pass – they are good. But I don’t like the pink/pastel of the party dress. The pattern is a little distracting, too, but the dress isn’t too bad, in my opinion. Gwen’s meet outfit looks like a summer party dress. I like it as a dress but not as a meet outfit. I like Sonali’s meet outfit. It looks like something a 9/10 year old would wear on a typical day.
I’m not sure where Chrissa’s meet dress came from either. It’s cute enough, but it looks like a craft project and not something a 10 year-old would ever wear. Sonali’s outfit is perfect.
Chrissa’s dress is most obviously not everyone’s favorite….

Her swim team outfits are OK, meet dress looks like Julie would waer it (and I’ve seen my mom in a dress like it… today), and her pastel dress…. I’d like it better with the movie colors.

I don’t like Chrissa’s meet dress either. I bought her warm up outfit and the Licorice play outfit for her instead. Her PJs are pretty cute. My Chrissa lives in her warm up set, though I hate the shoes it came with, so I bought Ducs (similar to Crocs) in yellow for her to wear instead.
I agree with you, Lena. I’d love to have a black GOTY. I have Addy, and she’s one of my favorites. I also agree with Anne. It would be cool if she had the African American Bitty Twin hair or similar to it.
You ordered a backordered doll, that won’t ship till August 1st. I got Emma yesterday, and she was shipped Sunday, so i’d expect 2-3 days depending how close you live.
I can pretty much judge outfits based on pictures alone. Some things are different in real life, though. I didn’t think that the embroidered flowers on Lissie’s new meet dress were as big as they actually are, and I didn’t think that the fabric would be so horrible, for example. But overall, I can tell if I like an outfit or not from pictures alone, but I have to see them in real life to decide just how much I like/dislike them.
I would like the dress (Lissie’s meet) much better if the material was cotton or something. Who agrees with me?
I was (and still am) so busy today! I woke up at 7 , ate and got ready for the day, skated from 8:30-10, got home close to 11, cleaned my closet until 1:30 or so, made lunch for me and my brother, ate, walked the dogs at 2:30, got home around 3:10, cleaned the kitchen, and rested for a few minutes. I still have to get my brother ready to go to the rink with my dad (they are skaters, too), pack all of my stuff for my three week trip, finish cleaning my closet, babysit from 7:10-9:30, and put all of my clothes from the basement that my mom and I sorted yesterday away.
I agree, Anne. My Felicity was wearing her traveling gown until yesterday and I don’t like the synthetic feel of the fabric. I’m hoping to someday buy her original rose garden dress and meet accessories. It’s not very pretty, per se, but I want it nonetheless.
See, I like to feel the fabric, see the embroidery in person/other people’s pictures then i can decide. I agree, Lissie’s new dress is horrible quality.
I actually love her original meet dress. And it is pretty cheap on eBay. I got mine for under $19 and AG sold it for $22 as the Rose Garden Gown/Dress before they retired it. Plus, it looks great on her. Purple/lavender is not Felicity’s best color.

I have a PM Felicity, and I was very sad to see the changes to her dress. I like the old one much better.
The new one is pretty and pastel and everything, but it just doesn’t seem as realistic as the old one. For me, being realistic can overshadow lack of bright color

If it makes any sense, Felicity’s old meet outfit and accessories are an old, comfortable classic. That outfit reminds me of the old days when each doll had a nice, large collection. I wish they were still available from, even if seperately. Thankfully, the price is very reasonable on eBay.

There is officially at least 1 mouse living in our house. I was on the computer a few minutes ago when I saw him or her scurry right past me. It is a tiny little thing! I love rodents and this one is really adorable, but I don’t like the idea of them living in the house. We had a mouse problem in the kitchen a little while ago, but we never actually saw a mouse. Their droppings gave them away.
My grandma freaked out when she found a bug in her apartment when I was visiting her with my dad a few weeks ago. She said that she had only seen two bugs in her apartment (it is new construction) and she has lived there since 2005 or so. I was amused at that statement because in my house, we find over two bugs a day! We don’t have a bad bug problem, but I think that finding very few bugs in the home is the one thing I really like about newer homes. We can deal with the bugs, but it would be nicer not to…that is, assuming that bugs have a harder time getting inside new houses. For those of you who live in newer houses – what do you think about this? Do you find very few bugs in your home?
I live in a house built in 2002 and we have our fair share of silver fish and spiders. Until last week, there was a family of rats living in our garage. Not mice. Rats. And about 7 baby rats. The baby rats were kind of cute.
our house was made in 2005,and there’s a lot of bugs in it.
I live in an 04 house, and I find bugs all the time. But to be fair, its very rainy here, and I live on a swamp. I’ve also found lizards and (bleh) snakes in my house.
My home is a 1993, but no bugs nor mice here. Just the occasion rattlesnake :’(
My whole backyard is the river, so theres only snakes that get near here.
Cool, Holly. I’ve seen a few deer, alligators, turkeys in my backyard. Once I even saw a baby panther.
I’ve seen deer and turkeys too. The side of one part of our property, is all woods.
Alligator gars are so amazing!!! They are native to where I live, and they are so friendly!
