Coming to a McDonald’s near you – American Girl “read. paly.create.” toys in Happy Meals. The scheduled date for the American Girl Happy Meal debut is mid-August (around the 14th) after the current TY promotion is done. The American Girl toys will obviously be for the girls and Lego Racers will be for boys.
Guessing from the teaser on the McDonald’s site, we won’t be seeing any dolls in Happy Meals, but it looks like they are promoting the educational and creative activities/books that are part of the brand. Although a mini doll or mini pet would be so cute – and you can guarantee these will go fast and show up on eBay even faster!

bookworm– they’re selling the toys at mcd’s because it’s a really smart business move. so many people eat there, and now they’ll be able to be known more. and all those girls out there who can’t afford real ag things can now get those things for a dollar.

Woot!!! Finished my job today and I got money!! I’m planning on buying Rebecca and her accessories, her school outfit, then putting the rest in my bank account. It’s supposed to get warm here next week, into the nineties!! To some people that’s not really hot, but for Washington that’s ridiculously hot for this time of year!

Sunbeemz~ I went on a servant event w/ my youth group. We finished the fence we’ve been working on 4 the past few years, and we had 2 carry 30 pound bricks down hill, and we painted the front of the dining hall (we were @ a camp). My youth leader when she finished painting, she had paint on her legs that looked like big spots of blood!! And she had 2 scrape wasp larvae off the building! I had a blast!!!
i hate mcdonalds but am going to still get the meal and then give the meal to my brother and then keep the toy
AG Fan…. you can get the toy for a dollar. Only the toy. You don’t have to feed your brother junk.

I love American Girls, but I wish Mattel didn’t buy the company. Since then, THIS has been what we’ve been getting. And I’m talking about commercial stuff. When American Girl was Pleasant Company instead of Mattel, they had a very nice staff and they even would label your last name onto the AG’s box!
It was so much better.
And now they are going to go overboard with all the silly advertising.

We are having a garage sale today. Definately not selling any AGs but I have a couple of cabbage patch kids for sale. I was like obsessed in the 2 and 3rd grade, but i’m over them now. They are very cute, but in 4th grade I moved on to AG which are a bit more realistic looking. I am still going to keep a couple though for the memories, ya know?
At some McDonalds it cost $2.49 or $2.99 for a toy. It varies with location and the boss. I know because I work at McDonald’s. I work over the counter so I know about how much stuff cost. All drinks right now as long as it’s a soft drink or tea is $1. Depending on your McDonald’s they may not be doing that. Were I work our boss said she planned to bring them in, but she waited until it got a certain degrees before bringing it which meant we had to wait until about July. Also, right now we are doing free mocha samples. Everyday from 7am – 7pm but it’s free all day on Mondays. And another thing you may not know is that you can now substitute fries with side salad in the bigger meals. So, if your worried about McDonald’s fries (we use a ton of grease) then switch for a side salad. Or if you don’t want a soft drink get you can now get bottled water with the meal, or get an unsweetened tea. We use a ton of sugar in the sweetened. They put a poster on our bulletin board. Each toy will come with paper dolls, I believe a meet book or it’s like the entering their world book, and a toy such as a journal or something like that. In the happy meals you can only substitute fries for apple dippers, and you can get orange juice, tea, chocolate milk, or milk for the drink if you don’t want pop.
UPDATE!!!! Mcdonalds toys now cost $2.13 separate at our McDonald’s. Also, I don’t see how people are doing this because we don’t start selling AG until the 14th, but their are already some listed in eBay. I wouldn’t trust them unless they have a 100% feedback because they could be trying to spoof you. TY doesn’t end until the 13th, and we aren’t suppose to start selling AG until the 14th however we are running low on the TY Babies.
Why are people getting so negitive about it. Mc. Donalds also sponsered Hello Kitty, whom also encourages healthy eating (I bet alot of you didn’t know that). Mc. Donalds isn’t all junk anymore. They haven’t been since they changed the nuggets and added apples to their menu.
We should be happy that Mc. Donalds finally sponsered AG. If you don’t like the food, give it to someone who does. Better yet, get over it. Burger King makes me sick and I ate it for the Cabbage Patch Kids and pokemon cards. If you love what they have to give; deal with the obsticle to get the prize.

Each one is a book with a meet the character or a small story about the American Girl. Each one has a craft, paper doll, and stickers. Each one also has scenes & settings that you can put the stickers on. Also, each has a ribbon like thing to tie around the book to keep it shut

Our McDonald’s just got them in. I saw them when I went back to the stock room to stock up on sauces for front line. Anyways, their really small. The boxes don’t take up much room. Didn’t actually get to see one though. They want to start selling are’s earlier than Friday because were running out of the TY’s, and were on our last box. We’ve been giving away Ice Age toys because we have a lot of extra’s. I don’t know what their gonna do if they fully run out. Probably sell these early. Anyways, I just wanted to give everyone the heads up. They came in our Tuesday’s shipment. Well I lost track of time tomorrow is Thursday, so if they run out I guess it’d be all right to start a day early.
Our McDonalds started giving them out today. My daughter got the Kirsten one – too cute. Its part of her story, paper dolls, a scene with stickers and it all folds up into a book that ties with a bow.
I looked on the website at the toys. All it is is an excerpt from the book and a little activity in the back. Like a mini paper lantern. They don’t even have Rebecca! I got a Molly toy and I LOVE it. It’s so adorable. It’s a great deal, the toy has a lot of different parts…. paper dolls, stickers, a spy wheel craft, a story book. I think it’s great quality!
