American Doll Room Giveaway and Review

UPDATED!! Scroll down for the winners.

Drumroll please…. This is the final giveaway for 2011 for Doll Diaries!! Don’t worry – we’ll have plenty more in the new year, but this is it for now. We are giving away a portable doll room from American Doll Room to two (2) lucky winners! All the information about how to enter is at the bottom of the post, but first a few photos and insights into this fun extension for doll play!

American Doll Room two rooms

American Doll Room is a new company that sells portable play rooms for 18″ dolls like American Girl. The concept is that you can simply flip open the sturdy room, set up your doll scenes and play, then when you are done, you fold it back down, pop it in the very cool carrying bag and carry it with you. Brilliant!!

The set up above is actually two of the rooms side by side. Each room has painted walls (you choose your color when ordering), floors that look like hardwood, removable carpet, removable curtains and the outside looks like vinyl siding. You can get pretty creative! In our scene above, Kailey and Kit are decorating the Christmas Tree in one side of the room while Maria and Chrissa are relaxing in the other side of the room.

American Doll Room

Each modular room measures 24″ tall by 24″ deep by 24″ wide making it the perfect size for American Girl and other 18″ doll furniture.

Springfield Girl Abby is getting ready for a nice long bath. Having removable carpet and curtains makes the American Doll Room even more versatile.

American Girl doll house

The carpet adds a cozy touch! In this bedroom set up, Springfield Girl Madison is hanging out with Tender Hearts Emma and all our American Girl cats on the Emily Rose trundle bed.

Flip the modular room around and you get another look all together! It’s the great outdoors! The stone patio and exterior walls are perfect for hosting a backyard barbecue or party just like Chrissa, Julie and Emma are doing.

When you are done playing or if you want to take your American Doll Room to a friend’s house, place all your dolls and accessories in the large duffle bag.

Fold up the room and place it in its heavy duty, purple carry bag and you are ready to go! Because the entire room folds down flat and fits into its own carry bag it it is very easy to store under a bed or in a closet when its not in use.

The American Doll Rooms sell for $89 each or you can get multi-room packages. They are so much fun for setting up scenes and really extending doll play!! So, now are you ready to win one?

Congratulations to our winners – Geri and Christina!!

I like the color selections of the rooms, purple, aqua, orange, raspberry and I prefer the white curtains. Great selection already. If I had to add a curtain color, I’d say add some sun or flower pattern.

I really like the rooms and the color choices, wished the curtains came in other colors like the floors and walls do. My daughter would love one of these. I will have to add it to her birthday list.

  6. I love the concept! I think this will extend the play by hours! My daughter will have to decorate and redecorate and then decorate again! The possibilities are endless – bedroom, bathroom, living room, classroom, dance studio… the list goes on. Different curtain options would be nice (maybe some sheers or blinds) but would probably not be difficult to make, even for a non-crafty person like myself. I’d like to see a yellow room with white floor (would make a sunny classroom, studio, kitchen) and maybe a few different options for the outside/patio area. Anyway, I love the rooms and I know my daughter will too! Thanks for allowing me to enter the contest. Off to “like” you on FaceBook right now! :-)

  7. I introduced myself on your FB page and also posted about your site and the Give-away on my FB wall. :-) So excited to have learned about your website!

  8. celeste says:

i think this is a very good idea if you don’t have alot of room for your dolls. i think they should have more add on’s and wall paper. this is a very good thing to have if you like to make doll rooms but dont have the space. Great!!! Its on my wish list ;)

  9. Ruth says:

I think it nicely gives the doll(s) their own little space, and it is very versatile. I would like to see a green background or even multi-color (wall-paperish) backgrounds. But you can do so much with this, what a great idea!

  10. Donna says:

    My daughter loves your rooms!

  11. Lin says:

I’d like to see a lime green room, and perhaps an off-white/cream/light tan room.

  12. Erin says:

I think they should have a Christmas tree thing for Christmas

  13. claire says:

char, do you know when you will post the winners for the other giveaways?

  14. Mercy says:

    I would like more options.

  15. Char says:

I am waiting to hear back from the all the winners and the American Doll Room Giveaway ends tomorrow.

  16. cindy says:

These are genius! Love the colors, but perhaps a room in more neutral?

  17. Aprile Garner says:

My grands would have a great time playing with these! I like the color choices. It might be fun to have more than one in different colors.

  18. Aprile Garner says:

I ” liked” you on Facebook.

  19. Shauna says:

It is always nice to see different choices and white curtains are nice but different colors to coordinate with the room would be cool. Please enter me into this giveaway.

  20. Shauna says:

Liked Doll diaries and American Doll Room on fb and posted. On there it is Sonya Somerville.

  21. Sara says:

I looked over these Doll Rooms last month and thought they would be great for making scenes! I like that there aren’t tops, and that they can be moved around. Also — lots of play value because multiple dolls can use and decorate.
I would like to see more patterned curtains! Or curtains/colors that may work with different time eras. I know my daughter would love these! If we don’t win, this is definitely on our wish list.

  22. Sara says:

I am also liking Doll Diaries and Doll Rooms on FB. :)
