All The American Girl Dolls

When I went to American Girl Place Chicago a few weeks ago, I took tons of pictures and it is taking me some time to get them posted. Here are some group photos of all the 18″ American Girl Dolls (minus Chrissa, Sonali and Gwen). They are all so cute – it makes you want them all!

Collection of American Girl Doll of the Year Limited editions

Starting from Left to Right, the Limited Edition Girls of the Year are: Lindsey (2001), Kailey (2003), Marisol (2005), Jess (2006), Nicki (2007), and Mia (2008). Since Chrissa, Gwen and Sonali are available now, they were not displayed here. All of the past Girls of the Year are now retired. They best place to look for the dolls and their outfits and accessories is on eBay (here is a custom search for them).

American Girl Historical Dolls

This was the display for all of the historical dolls – notice Samantha, Nellie, are not there (for some reason Elizabeth and Emily are missing from the display too). Left to right, Kaya, Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Kit, Ruthie, Molly, Julie and Ivy.

American Girl Just Like You Dolls

And the Just Like You Doll display. Each of the dolls is just so cute!

I’m almost positive I want either a Julie doll, or a Rebecca doll….or Ivy.

  2. chrysanthamum says:

im not wure which i’ll buy, but i might buy the western horse first. why was there no 2002 doll of the year?

  3. sarah says:

cool, there’s another Sarah on the board *waves*. akshually…… when me and my cousin used to play dolls, her doll would ride on sparks flying, and it balanced her out BETTER than the regular sized AG horses. The full sized horses are pretty hard for AG’s to balance on TTUTT (to tell you the truth, NEW ONE), but the AG’s DO look funny on the ponies, and like Lena said kind of crush them  .Poor ponies… yeah jackson looks more like the my twinn horse which is bigger, but *coughcough* Jackson is such a cuter horse

  4. sarah says:

    kailey was 2002-2003 :)

  5. Lena says:

Let me just say this: Ponies are NOT baby horses. Fillies are baby girls, foals are baby boys. Ponnies are a BREED of horse that’s small.

  6. priscilla says:

hey guys! i luv horses! glad to see there’s a discussion about them! so yeah! hehe well anyhow so …. I GOT THE MINI RUTHIE DOLL TODAY! She’s so cute! :)

  7. priscilla says:

lena ur right because i know lots of people think ponies are baby horses but there totally not.

  8. Lena says:

Yeah, I like horses. My friend’s family owns a ranch, but I hardly see her anymore since we both homeschool now. I swear, on of her horses (her name was Dawn) looks exactrly like Nicki’s horse Jackson did.
Priscilla, glad to see someone knows ponies are not babies.

  9. Lena says:

The horse’s name was Dawn, not my friends. My friends name was Michelle.

  10. Abby says:

SHE DOES!!!! ITS SO COOL!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!

  11. madison says:

    hi guys.. :(

  12. Abby says:

    Dear Lena,
I don’t think Kirsten is Pleasent Company becasue her body is not white and I noticed that the older Pleasent Companys don’t have as good quality as the newer dolls becasue there legs are Rubber and the newer dolls feet are completly hard and plastic.

    Sincerly,
    Abby

  13. Abby says:

    Whats wrong Madison?

  14. Abby says:

    Dear EVERYONE,
ADDY IS STILL OSING LOTS OF BEAUTIFULL TEXTURED BLACK HAIR!!!!! :(

  15. Abby says:

Okay I guess thats enough of the letter stuff huh?

  16. Lena says:

Abby, first off, only the the dolls were only made with white cloth bodies for until 1991, when Felicity’s low necklines made them change it. PC dolls do have cloth bodies. They are NOT rubber, they are still vinyl, just softer. And many collectors agree, PC dolls were better quality than Mattel dolls because they were more huggable.

  17. chrysanthamum says:

    whyd matel change it?

  18. Lena says:

The body color? Mattel didn’t change it. Pleasant Company did because it didn’t look good with Felicity’s low necklines. As for the vinyl, i have no idea.

QUOTE: Let me just say this: Ponies are NOT baby horses. Fillies are baby girls, foals are baby boys. Ponnies are a BREED of horse that’s small: END QUOTE

akshuuuuually, saying a baby horse is a pony is more of a slang term because a pony refers to a small horse, and baby horses are small. Definition: a horse of any small type or breed. IOW, people call them ponies because they are small, just like the breed.
Ooooo, yes horses are beautiful, it would be so cool to own one, I mean as long as you hired someone to help “clean up”, if you know what I mean, not trying to sound lazy though :]

  20. Lena says:

    Sarah, it’s spelled “actually”

“a horse of any small type or breed.” means that the horse is small once it reached full maturity, not while it is a baby.

But I did mess up on what I said before. A foal is what a baby horse is called.
Filly is used for baby girl, colt for baby boy.

    But they are NOT ponies.

  21. priscilla says:

    hey! :)

  22. Lena says:

    Hey Priscilla!

  23. sarah says:

wow, people on these message board things are really trying to come after me today. I know how to spell actually, i spelled it AKSHUALLY because that’s how me and my friends always spell it in text language, its boring spelling it rite. yes, I know I spelled right wrong, like I said its just this thing called text talk

  24. Lena says:

Not everyone cares to learn text talk.

Hehe… I’d hire someone to do the “dirty” work with my horses too. I’ve done it before, not an experience I care to repeat…. *shivers*

  25. priscilla says:

hi! woo hoo! yay! my mum just bought me the jumper & boots set for dolls! and she bought my BFF Melissa the cozy star robe and we both got books! :D

  26. chrysanthamum says:

i got to ride a horse before, it was on a trail.

  27. priscilla says:

hey have you guys seen the new ag book called “is this normal?” i was going to get it but then i did’nt. but anyhow do you guys think i should buy it next?

  28. priscilla says:

chrysanthamum, that is so coolio! i luv horses!

  29. madison says:

my dad’s in the BVIs for 3 weeks and i really miss him. :[ he will be back june 4th

  30. sarah says:

never heard of that book pris, but I think you should get whichever one you want, I like the mystery ones.
yeaaaaaaa, Lena well to tell you the truth I never wanted to learn text talk because it always interferes with my writing in school, not totally that much, but a lot I always do like “u” or “omg” or “btw”, oh and I always write LOL in my work by mistake, buuuuut my friends started IMing me like that and I picked up, but its totally fun talkin to my friends like that. I’m pretty sure my mom STILL doesn’t know what lol means, I think she thinks it means lots of love   .

  31. sarah says:

ma bad I meant  . Gotcha <

  32. Lena says:

Sarah, I used to text my friends a lot, but then I started homeschool and I lost touch. I use lol and BTW, but I usually write word out cause I have to for school and AGPlaythings and stuff.

Sorry if I sounded mean, I really didn’t mean to.

  33. priscilla says:

has anyone read “is this normal?” is it good?

  34. Lena says:

Priscilla, I haven’t read it, but an AG review said it’s a good book for girls starting puberty. I’m assuming those of you who are 10, 11, and 12, it would be a very good book for you.

  35. Lena says:

Bouna Notte, I’m gonna go read.

  36. Selena says:

ya, ‘cept the book had some pretty dumb (no offense to anyone, just saying!) questions…

  37. priscilla says:

well,i’m 11 so i think i might buy it. but is it for like younger girls or older? because it might be too “old” for me,you know? anyhow, my cousin is getting her first AG doll soon! and she said she’ll start commenting on here too! her name’s Erin. :)

  38. priscilla says:

lena, where did you see the ag review? its not on the AG website.

  39. Lena says:

    Cool about your cousin Priscilla.

Um…. how do I say this…. have you started getting your monthlies? Please ask your mother if you don’t understand me. If not, you’re the right age to to buy the book.

Click my name to see the book on AG. I was wrong, there is no review, but the description does say what it’s about.

  40. sarah says:

Um, yeah I’m pretty sure the book “is this normal” is like the book “the care and keeping of you”. I’d say its for girls like 11-13, but, eh, talk to your mom about it :-/. Its just a book about puberty, mebbe for tweens that need to know bout that stuff. ANYHOO, of course you didn’t sound mean Lena, I know what you meant. Funny, when I IM adults, I always use proper grammar, and it was so funny once, an adult I IMed, she told my Grandma what an excellent writer I was because her niece always uses text talk and I didn’t. She should see me in action with my friends! Some stuff I completely make up and even my friends don’t get it. Sometimes it gets pretty annoying because I’ll start actually talking to people in text talk, and like saying “Kay, mom BRB!” , LOL

  41. sarah says:

how do you do this :-\ :-/ =/ =\ ???? sorry i just need to figure this out!

  42. sarah says:

    =-/ =-\

  43. Lena says:

    :-| I think

  44. Lena says:

    yay! Itt’s this : – | only no spaces.

  45. Lena says:

:-| I have to get back to schoolwork. Bye!

  46. priscilla says:

lena, the answer to that is NO WAY. haha but yep! i’m ok at “text talk ” but i’m no expert. do you guys like the show bewitched? i know its OLD but i luv it!

  47. Lena says:

I love the old shows better than most of the new ones! Bewitched, Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, and Leave it to Beaver.

Then i’d recomend the book for you.

  48. sarah says:

Me too, the classics are wayyyy better than those stupid shows on these days (especially those dumb soap operas) I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE I love Lucy. I’ve watch each episode at least 10 times and a few others even more. I also love the Brady bunch, get smart, matlock, hawaii-five-o (im into mysteries), I’ve only seen bewitched a couple of times before. Hey Lena, thanks for the :-|

  49. Lena says:

    Your welcome Sarah!

Oh, Get Smart’s on of my favorites too. Hehe, I’d like a shoe phone.

  50. Abby says:

Umm guys can we stop talking about that “book”?
