Samantha is all dressed up in her Party Dress and needs an elegant and stylish hairstyle fit for a Christmas party.
I chose a Victorian hairstyle inspired by drawings in this magazine from the late 1860’s (image 3). It is before Samantha’s time but it’s a lovely look with her dress.
She has a simple up-do with 2 long curls left to hang down her back.
This hairstyle would be stunning on a doll with curly hair like Cecile or Caroline but it also works with loose curls like Samantha’s.
Let’s get started!
Gather up all of the hair for a ponytail except for two strands at the neckline that you will set aside. They will form the curls that hang down, so be sure they are the thickness you want. Pull the rest of the hair into a ponytail. Twist the ponytail.
Wrap the twisted ponytail around to form a loose bun.
Tuck the end in where you began and space out the hair to form an even bun. Tuck in the loose edges and bobby pin in place.
This is the finished bun.
To encourage the curls to form ringlets twist each strand of hair.
It will help the hair come together to form the curl.
Here is the simple yet elegant look.
Samantha is all ready for a party!
