There is nothing like a hair accessory to add a little fun to a doll outfit!

This tidy little bow is light, airy and just right for summer!

I could not resist the oversized bow!  Keep in mind you can make this little bow in any size, depending on the size of fabric strips you use.

Let’s take a look!

Supplies:

  • tulle
  • needle
  • thread
  • thin elastic chord or hair clip
  • ribbon
  • glue

You could make this little bow out of any fabric for different looks, but tulle is what makes this bow light and breezy.

Let’s get started!

Cut two rectangles of tulle fabric.

Fold the long side over so that the edge meets in the middle.

Fold the second long side to overlap the middle.

Bring each of the short sides into the middle.

Pinch the middle into a bow, holding the layers together.

Thread the needle and run a stitch through the middle of the bow.  Wrap the thread around the middle of the bow to hold in place.  When it is secure, add a few stitches, tie off the thread and cut off the extra.

Wrap a piece of ribbon around the middle of the bow.

Attach the bow to a clip or an elastic chord for a headband.

Hair accessories are one of my favorite doll crafts!

This one is quick and easy and a fun addition to your summer wardrobe!
