A few weeks before my birthday I got a surprise delivery. It was from my dear friend Maxine in England who owns My Doll Best Friend. I opened the package and was so thrilled. She had sent me a very special new doll – one I have never seen up close before – it is Gotz Happy Kidz Anna 2014 wearing the Equestrian outfit. The Gotz Happy Kidz line is not available in the US, so this makes her even more special.
Isn’t she just so beautiful? Gotz has a variety of different face molds and body styles they use depending on the line. The Happy Kidz line are 18″ tall, are all vinyl with slim bodies, have fixed eyes (they don’t open and close), and have 9 points of articulation (vs. 5 for American Girl). In other words, Anna can bend at the knees and elbows, too!
Anna was thrilled to find out that we had a horse ready for her to ride. Sunny was happy to have such a qualified rider to explore with, too!
Isabelle welcomed Anna to the doll room and offered her a change of clothes. The Gotz dolls can share with AG dolls, but some of the items are a little big. Anna will do better swapping clothes with our other Gotz dolls, Carpatina, Journey Girls and even the Springfield dolls to an extent. After watching the Isabelle movie, Natalie and I decided that Anna really does look a lot like the actress who played Isabelle‘s sister Jade, so we have renamed her “Anna Jade” and she can go by either name, depending on the role she is playing.
Notice how Anna Jade’s head is attached to her body? I really think this is a more attractive way than most other dolls, plus it allows for a much bigger range of motion and poseability with her head.
Thank you again, Maxine!! Anna Jade is just such a special addition to our doll family. When we are done traveling I will do more photos with her to give you a better look at her poseability – so far I am quite impressed!
You can see more dolls from the Gotz Happy Kidz line at My Doll Best Friend.
