When I ordered the boxed set of Caroline’s stories I also ordered Caroline’s Color and Craft Book. And just in case you were considering it, I thought I’d give you a peek inside.
Our mini Caroline doll offered to help show you what is inside the book. Unfortunately the lighting in my house today was horrible, but you can get the general idea. Caroline Color and Craft consists of 12 illustrations you can color and some paper crafts like a basket, little boxes, bunting, and the like you can make.
The coloring pages are thick and there is a design on one side only, but the drawings are pretty basic versions of the illustrations in Caroline’s books. This particular page is Caroline ice skating and the ice is pre-colored using a shiny silver coating. I thought that was pretty neat.
Likewise, her Secret Message illustration is flocked so it is soft to the touch. There is also a fold out calendar type activity where you can list out birthdays/special days for friends and family and there is an envelope inside the back cover that you can color.
Mini Caroline helped me make one of the boxes you punch out of the colored paper and fold. I haven’t made the basket yet, because Natalie was pretty clear that she wanted to make it and I was not to touch it!
The list price for the Caroline Color and Craft book is $15, but Amazon has it for $10 which I think is a more reasonable price for it. I kind of wish we would have got Caroline’s Play Scenes and Paper Dolls instead as I think it would have had more play value, but the Color and Craft book will get used on a rainy day, I am sure.
If you can get the Color and Craft book for a good price it is perfect for birthdays, rainy days, holiday gifts and of course, for anyone who loves Caroline but wants to give her a creative touch on paper.
