Madelon here – since the big buzz this month has been over Isabelle and her ballet collection, I wanted to show you one of my favorite dolls from 2000.
This ballerina is part of a series of dolls sculpted by Robert Tonner in 2000 for the JC Penney catalog – they were called Penney and Friends.
She has such beautiful blue eyes with a soulful look to them. And isn’t her ballet costume just exquisite?
Here is a closer look at the intricate work on her dress. Also it is important to note that she is an 18″ slim body doll like Carpatina.
Her costume snaps up in back – again, such attention to detail.
A closer look at her ballet bun decoration.
Such graceful ballet hands.
It’s hard to tell from the photo, but her tights shimmer in the light.
Good bye says Penney!
(Char) I am actually on the look out for one of the Penney and Friends dolls myself. They come up on eBay from time to time – just waiting for the exact right one!
