Thanks Lena for leaving a comment about this and letting me know.
Now we just need to know what the GOTY will look like and what her name is!

Comments

  1. Keanna says:

Oooooooohhh!! **squealing with delight* I’m so excited!!! I can’t wait to see how she looks like:D!!!!!

  2. Lily says:

It’s very nice to hear something about the new GOTY. School is eating me alive and I love hearing doll news. Thanks for sharing, Lena.

And remember, click on my name!

  3. Michelle says:

Woahhhh! That’s sooo cool! I hope that more scoop will bediscovered soon…

  4. Lily says:

… although I’m a little wary of the “outdoorsy girl” premise. No tree huggers, please! Hiking and biking, sure.

  5. Caitlin says:

Sounds pretty cool to me. I’m kind of tired of all the outdoor, sportsy girls though. No offense to anyone of course. I just want to see a doll that does something else. Plays an instrument maybe? Is an artist? I mean Kailey was at the beach all the time, Marisol danced, Jess was outside in Belize, Nicki was always with the animals, Mia skated and Chrissa swims. I want something different!

  6. Lena says:

Lindsey did play an instrument, the trumpet. They never made one for her because she was a poor seller.

But, I agree, I kinda want a violinist or artist. Or a cellist!
And also a martial artist…. but thats just me.

    You’re welcome, Lily.

  7. Lena says:

Huh, I just read a rumor that 2010′s name is Lanie. Lanie is still copywriten as an AG name, but Im not completly sure about this being 2010′s name. Again, it is a RUMOR, nothing official.

  8. Anne says:

Cool! I squealed when I saw this page!

Cool find, Lena. Maybe it’s true!

  9. Julie says:

I really wish that she could have a best friend! Hopefully she will… I have money to spend on a new doll, but I want to wait and see what she looks like. Any suggestions?

(I’m getting Julie for Christmas!!! :)

  10. ashley says:

Ashley – I am removing your comment because you are not allowed to give out personal information such as your age and where you live on this site. It is for your own good. -Char

  11. ashley says:

i hope im not being noisy!!!!!!!

  12. ashley says:

    oh sorry!!!!!!!!!

  13. Sarah says:

    thats cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Julie says:

Does anyone else think that she should have a best friend?

  15. Julie says:

I hope she will have carmel colored long hair, and green eyes. It would be cool if her name was Jenelle. I like that name… :)

  16. Julie says:

    Oh, I am taking a survey…
    Which is your favorite doll?

    Molly/Emily
    Julie/Ivy
    Kit/Ruthie
    Chrissa
    JLY
    Mia

    Vote please!!! :)

  17. Lena says:

I want an AA girl. I want one. I dont care what eye color or hairstyle or even mold, as long as she’s Addy toned. And I really dont think she should have a best friend, because a BF tends to distract from the main GOTY, and it is very difficult to get all of them at once.

My favorite is Beckie, but if I must choose from that list, then Kit. Not Ruthie, just Kit.

  18. brighteyes64 says:

    julie,my favorite is jly.

  19. priscilla says:

    cool!! :)

  20. priscilla says:

My faorite doll would be mia,kit or emily or julie!

  21. priscilla says:

oh, oops i mean favorite. lol

  22. priscilla says:

lena, i want an african-american doll too!!! That would be so cool to finally have an AA Goty!!!

  23. Lily says:

Oh, no. I really hope her name is not Lanie. That is about as bad as Chrissa.

  24. Anne (agfan15) says:

    Wow!
    I can’t wait!
It sounds like she likes Going Green!

  25. Gracie says:

It probably isn’t going to be Lanie but it depends on if it suits her. It would be cool to have a going green GOTY

  26. Anne says:

I haven’t seen any of those dolls in real life but my favorite out of the bunch would have to be Kit and Emily, probably in that order.

I hope she doesn’t have a bff because it would be hard to get everything in one year or less, and, also, in the slight hope that they will focus more of their attention on the forgotten historical line.

  27. Lily says:

NOOO!!! I really hope that the new doll isn’t a “going green” tree hugger. The whole save the environment thing is getting old and cliche. That was Kailey’s topic anyway. Enjoying the outdoors is different.

  28. Lily says:

I forgot … “going green” was voted one of the top 10 cliche phrases of 2008. Surprise, surprise.

  29. Lena says:

Its clichéed because its used so much, not because people shouldn’t be doing it.

  30. Lena says:

Also, Kailey was 6 years ago, there’s a whole new target age that doesnt even know she existed.

  31. Lily says:

Speaking of Kailey, I found one with most of her collection (minus Sandy the dog) for $70. However, she came with a bad haircut. I sent her to the doll hospital today for a new head.

  32. Lily says:

“Going green” is cliche for more than one reason. But let’s not get into that. I doubt AG would go far past Kailey’s save the tidepools thing.

  33. Holly says:

I hope she is for going green. That’s something I’m strongly for, and I would love to see a doll like that to relate to.

  34. Lena says:

    Virtual high five, Holly.

  35. Keanna says:

I reeeeaallllyyy wanna see a picture of her!

  36. Holly says:

I’m astonished by how many people are against going green.. I’m definitely not against it at all, and most people disagree with me.
What type of clothes do yall hope she has?

  37. Lena says:

    GREEN & BROWN!!!!

Ok, just anything but pink and purple. AG uses those colors way too much, IMO.
I hope she has some campy outfits, more like the retired camp outfit. And a tent.

Holly, I completly agree with you. We may not be causeing global warming, but being the way we are is bad for the planet.

I shall be making a list of why doing somethings is better for you, your wallet, and the planet, and posting it on my LJ. Tomorrow, because now I feel lazy.

  38. Holly says:

I want blue, green, and brown. I REALLY don’t want her to have all pink.

People call me a hippie for me being “Going green”, which doesn’t bother me. I kinda hope the GOTY has the same type of issues.

    I’ll make sure I read them. 8)

  39. Quinlyn says:

Sounds AWESOME! She really sounds like my kind of girl! I cannot wait to see her!

  40. Lily says:

I doubt that American Girl would touch on global warming because it’s a bit of a political issue. Kailey’s deal was different. But yeah, I guess you could say I feel strongly about “going green” too. Just the opposite direction.

My fingers are crossed for a hiking, biking, rock-climbing, camping doll. Well, they did say “outdoors”, not the environment.

  41. Ava says:

It sounds like she might keep a garden or something, except that would be too similar to Josefina.

I hope she wears jeans and a hoodie. It annoys me that most of the GOTYs have worn skirts.

Whats wrong with the name Lanie? At least it’s an actual name.

  42. Ava says:

Nevermind about the garden thing. l didn’t read carefully.

  43. AG&FAN says:

…cool! I hope she’s a girl who likes to draw, write poems and stories.
And plus I hope different AA mold comes out,too-and I hope it would be either
pretty or cute(Addy looked detailed or gorgeous to me!). And maybe AA with the straight hair will come out, since lot of AA girls now have that kind of hair.

Well,I don’t really like kind of energetic that means racing and stuff,
but I hope she is this energetic-she rides a bike to somewhere and makes
a poetry about it…But I wish she don’t stand up against of anything like that,
because not every single GOTY has to be special and helpful.
    I’m really interested in book,too.

And there’s still 2 months ’till she comes out offically…But hopefully AG will offically send hints, too. And I hope her name is really pretty and simple, too…

  44. Lena says:

I personally would love the kind of girl Lily mentioned. I’d still like for her to touch on the environment, like this:

“Oh, no, the camp grounds filled with trash!”

I really wont be too happy if she’s a rehash of Captain Planet…… and if you get this reference, then wow.

  45. alexis says:

YESSSS!!! I KNEW she was a ‘green’ girl and everyine else was like how do you know? but yay I am sooo happy

  46. Lily says:

Alexis, she’s not a “green girl” to the best of our knowledge. The outdoors are different. And better.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with touching on the subject of littering. Just not global warming, etc.

  47. Julie says:

We don’t know if she is a “green girl” alexis, hopefully they do that thing like with chrissa and the puzzle pieces soon revealing her identity!

  48. Lena says:

Julie, they’ve done that since Jess, I think. I doubt this time will be different.

  49. Ava says:

I know you think the topic of global warming is a cliche, Lily- but l’d like to point out that so is the topic of bullying.

  50. Lily says:

Oh, I remember the puzzle pieces with Jess! I was an American Girl club member and I was so excited to see a new puzzle piece each morning. The first puzzle piece was a picture of a shoe. What a long time ago … four years.
