Oooooooohhh!! **squealing with delight* I’m so excited!!! I can’t wait to see how she looks like:D!!!!!

  2. Lily on November 2nd, 2009 11:04 pm

It’s very nice to hear something about the new GOTY. School is eating me alive and I love hearing doll news. Thanks for sharing, Lena.

And remember, click on my name!

  3. Michelle on November 2nd, 2009 11:05 pm

Woahhhh! That’s sooo cool! I hope that more scoop will bediscovered soon…

  4. Lily on November 2nd, 2009 11:08 pm

… although I’m a little wary of the “outdoorsy girl” premise. No tree huggers, please! Hiking and biking, sure.

  5. Caitlin on November 2nd, 2009 11:45 pm

Sounds pretty cool to me. I’m kind of tired of all the outdoor, sportsy girls though. No offense to anyone of course. I just want to see a doll that does something else. Plays an instrument maybe? Is an artist? I mean Kailey was at the beach all the time, Marisol danced, Jess was outside in Belize, Nicki was always with the animals, Mia skated and Chrissa swims. I want something different!

  6. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 7:06 am

Lindsey did play an instrument, the trumpet. They never made one for her because she was a poor seller.

But, I agree, I kinda want a violinist or artist. Or a cellist!
And also a martial artist…. but thats just me.

    You’re welcome, Lily.

  7. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 8:26 am

Huh, I just read a rumor that 2010’s name is Lanie. Lanie is still copywriten as an AG name, but Im not completly sure about this being 2010’s name. Again, it is a RUMOR, nothing official.

  8. Anne on November 3rd, 2009 9:22 am

Cool! I squealed when I saw this page!

Cool find, Lena. Maybe it’s true!

  9. Julie on November 3rd, 2009 11:27 am

I really wish that she could have a best friend! Hopefully she will… I have money to spend on a new doll, but I want to wait and see what she looks like. Any suggestions?

(I’m getting Julie for Christmas!!! :)

  10. ashley on November 3rd, 2009 1:29 pm

  11. ashley on November 3rd, 2009 1:29 pm

i hope im not being noisy!!!!!!!

  12. ashley on November 3rd, 2009 1:46 pm

    oh sorry!!!!!!!!!

  13. Sarah on November 3rd, 2009 1:47 pm

    thats cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Julie on November 3rd, 2009 2:08 pm

Does anyone else think that she should have a best friend?

  15. Julie on November 3rd, 2009 2:09 pm

I hope she will have carmel colored long hair, and green eyes. It would be cool if her name was Jenelle. I like that name… :)

  16. Julie on November 3rd, 2009 2:11 pm

    Oh, I am taking a survey…
    Which is your favorite doll?

    Molly/Emily
    Julie/Ivy
    Kit/Ruthie
    Chrissa
    JLY
    Mia

    Vote please!!! :)

  17. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 2:16 pm

I want an AA girl. I want one. I dont care what eye color or hairstyle or even mold, as long as she’s Addy toned. And I really dont think she should have a best friend, because a BF tends to distract from the main GOTY, and it is very difficult to get all of them at once.

My favorite is Beckie, but if I must choose from that list, then Kit. Not Ruthie, just Kit.

  18. brighteyes64 on November 3rd, 2009 2:39 pm

    julie,my favorite is jly.

  19. priscilla on November 3rd, 2009 3:19 pm

    cool!! :)

  20. priscilla on November 3rd, 2009 3:20 pm

My faorite doll would be mia,kit or emily or julie!

  21. priscilla on November 3rd, 2009 3:21 pm

oh, oops i mean favorite. lol

  22. priscilla on November 3rd, 2009 3:23 pm

lena, i want an african-american doll too!!! That would be so cool to finally have an AA Goty!!!

  23. Lily on November 3rd, 2009 4:31 pm

Oh, no. I really hope her name is not Lanie. That is about as bad as Chrissa.

  24. Anne (agfan15) on November 3rd, 2009 4:51 pm

    Wow!
    I can’t wait!
It sounds like she likes Going Green!

  25. Gracie on November 3rd, 2009 5:15 pm

It probably isn’t going to be Lanie but it depends on if it suits her. It would be cool to have a going green GOTY

  26. Anne on November 3rd, 2009 5:22 pm

I haven’t seen any of those dolls in real life but my favorite out of the bunch would have to be Kit and Emily, probably in that order.

I hope she doesn’t have a bff because it would be hard to get everything in one year or less, and, also, in the slight hope that they will focus more of their attention on the forgotten historical line.

  27. Lily on November 3rd, 2009 6:30 pm

NOOO!!! I really hope that the new doll isn’t a “going green” tree hugger. The whole save the environment thing is getting old and cliche. That was Kailey’s topic anyway. Enjoying the outdoors is different.

  28. Lily on November 3rd, 2009 6:32 pm

I forgot … “going green” was voted one of the top 10 cliche phrases of 2008. Surprise, surprise.

  29. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 6:43 pm

Its clichéed because its used so much, not because people shouldn’t be doing it.

  30. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 6:44 pm

Also, Kailey was 6 years ago, there’s a whole new target age that doesnt even know she existed.

  31. Lily on November 3rd, 2009 7:01 pm

Speaking of Kailey, I found one with most of her collection (minus Sandy the dog) for $70. However, she came with a bad haircut. I sent her to the doll hospital today for a new head.

  32. Lily on November 3rd, 2009 7:02 pm

“Going green” is cliche for more than one reason. But let’s not get into that. I doubt AG would go far past Kailey’s save the tidepools thing.

  33. Holly on November 3rd, 2009 7:45 pm

I hope she is for going green. That’s something I’m strongly for, and I would love to see a doll like that to relate to.

  34. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 7:56 pm

    Virtual high five, Holly.

  35. Keanna on November 3rd, 2009 8:49 pm

I reeeeaallllyyy wanna see a picture of her!

  36. Holly on November 3rd, 2009 9:02 pm

I’m astonished by how many people are against going green.. I’m definitely not against it at all, and most people disagree with me.
What type of clothes do yall hope she has?

  37. Lena on November 3rd, 2009 9:13 pm

    GREEN & BROWN!!!!

Ok, just anything but pink and purple. AG uses those colors way too much, IMO.
I hope she has some campy outfits, more like the retired camp outfit. And a tent.

Holly, I completly agree with you. We may not be causeing global warming, but being the way we are is bad for the planet.

I shall be making a list of why doing somethings is better for you, your wallet, and the planet, and posting it on my LJ. Tomorrow, because now I feel lazy.

  38. Holly on November 3rd, 2009 9:24 pm

I want blue, green, and brown. I REALLY don’t want her to have all pink.

People call me a hippie for me being “Going green”, which doesn’t bother me. I kinda hope the GOTY has the same type of issues.

    I’ll make sure I read them. 8)

  39. Quinlyn on November 3rd, 2009 11:35 pm

Sounds AWESOME! She really sounds like my kind of girl! I cannot wait to see her!

  40. Lily on November 3rd, 2009 11:41 pm

I doubt that American Girl would touch on global warming because it’s a bit of a political issue. Kailey’s deal was different. But yeah, I guess you could say I feel strongly about “going green” too. Just the opposite direction.

My fingers are crossed for a hiking, biking, rock-climbing, camping doll. Well, they did say “outdoors”, not the environment.

  41. Ava on November 3rd, 2009 11:54 pm

It sounds like she might keep a garden or something, except that would be too similar to Josefina.

I hope she wears jeans and a hoodie. It annoys me that most of the GOTYs have worn skirts.

Whats wrong with the name Lanie? At least it’s an actual name.

  42. Ava on November 4th, 2009 12:00 am

Nevermind about the garden thing. l didn’t read carefully.

  43. AG&FAN on November 4th, 2009 1:07 am

…cool! I hope she’s a girl who likes to draw, write poems and stories.
And plus I hope different AA mold comes out,too-and I hope it would be either
pretty or cute(Addy looked detailed or gorgeous to me!). And maybe AA with the straight hair will come out, since lot of AA girls now have that kind of hair.

Well,I don’t really like kind of energetic that means racing and stuff,
but I hope she is this energetic-she rides a bike to somewhere and makes
a poetry about it…But I wish she don’t stand up against of anything like that,
because not every single GOTY has to be special and helpful.
    I’m really interested in book,too.

And there’s still 2 months ’till she comes out offically…But hopefully AG will offically send hints, too. And I hope her name is really pretty and simple, too…

  44. Lena on November 4th, 2009 7:03 am

I personally would love the kind of girl Lily mentioned. I’d still like for her to touch on the environment, like this:

“Oh, no, the camp grounds filled with trash!”

I really wont be too happy if she’s a rehash of Captain Planet…… and if you get this reference, then wow.

  45. alexis on November 4th, 2009 4:40 pm

YESSSS!!! I KNEW she was a ‘green’ girl and everyine else was like how do you know? but yay I am sooo happy

  46. Lily on November 4th, 2009 5:57 pm

Alexis, she’s not a “green girl” to the best of our knowledge. The outdoors are different. And better.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with touching on the subject of littering. Just not global warming, etc.

  47. Julie on November 4th, 2009 6:08 pm

We don’t know if she is a “green girl” alexis, hopefully they do that thing like with chrissa and the puzzle pieces soon revealing her identity!

  48. Lena on November 4th, 2009 6:19 pm

Julie, they’ve done that since Jess, I think. I doubt this time will be different.

  49. Ava on November 4th, 2009 10:38 pm

I know you think the topic of global warming is a cliche, Lily- but l’d like to point out that so is the topic of bullying.

  50. Lily on November 4th, 2009 11:09 pm

Oh, I remember the puzzle pieces with Jess! I was an American Girl club member and I was so excited to see a new puzzle piece each morning. The first puzzle piece was a picture of a shoe. What a long time ago … four years.

  51. Lily on November 4th, 2009 11:10 pm

And yeah, bullying is cliche too. I didn’t even buy Chrissa.

  52. Keanna on November 5th, 2009 8:04 pm

What are puzzle pieces? I mean I know what they are but what are you guys talking about?

  53. Lena on November 5th, 2009 9:26 pm

Keanna, its the puzzle that reveals the GOTY. Its like one of those countdown till Christmas calanders, where 1 piece is shown everyday until she’s revealed.

  54. Keanna on November 6th, 2009 7:43 pm

Do they show the puzzle pieces on the website? I’m completely lost:( Where do you even get the puzzle pieces??????

  55. Keanna on November 6th, 2009 7:44 pm

Do u get the pieces in the mail?

  56. alexis on November 7th, 2009 7:20 am

When will they start the puzzle pieces? I am guessing next month

  57. alexis on November 7th, 2009 7:21 am

Keanna, The puzzle pieces appear on the website and every day they add a new piece “revealing” the new doll (lanie).

  58. Allison on November 7th, 2009 8:45 am

    I can’t wait!

  59. Keanna on November 7th, 2009 11:43 am

Oh, now I get it:D Thanks Alexis, do they appear in like December?

  60. Lena on November 7th, 2009 12:46 pm

Yep, the puzzles apear in the first week of December, normally.

  61. Keanna on November 7th, 2009 1:17 pm

    Yay! I’m so excited!

  62. alexis on November 7th, 2009 7:47 pm

I know this will be kool but normally dolldiaries ends up getting a small “peek” at what the doll looks like this happened with Chrissa and I think Mia also so we must keep an eye out

  63. Lena on November 8th, 2009 7:19 am

Actually, Mia was shown on Oprah, that’s when we got a sneak peak at her.

  64. alexis on November 8th, 2009 5:31 pm

I know that is exactly what i meant Lenna, we got the sneak peek off of Oprah.

  65. Sarah on November 10th, 2009 7:15 pm

i cant wait!!!!!! it soooo long away!!!!lol

  66. Roxy on November 11th, 2009 8:31 pm

Wow, I can’t wait until I go to the store next year, I better have enough money for her. I don’t care if I don’t know about her yet, I just know I’ll probally want her.

  67. allie on November 18th, 2009 6:37 pm

i think ‘lanie’ is a really pretty and simple name and i wish they would make a more ‘tom girl’ GOTY

  68. emma on November 23rd, 2009 9:25 am

    i can’t wait!!:D i’m glad there making a more tom-boy doll like Jess.

    and btw- remember when we used to chat soooo much last December on Chrissa’s page??[;

    and now i have 18 AG’s[;

  69. emma on November 23rd, 2009 9:26 am

    Anyone on???

  70. Lauren on November 24th, 2009 8:44 pm

I REALY hope we get an AA GOTY! It is probably likely because of the Obama girls. But it is unlikely that Lanie will be AA because of the tendency of AG to make new dolls with books (i.e. historicals and GOTYs) be Latino or Caucasian. Their are VERY few AA and Asian AG dolls. Does anyone else agree?

  71. Ava on November 25th, 2009 3:02 pm

    Yep

  72. alexis on November 25th, 2009 6:41 pm

no I think that anything can happen and that very well may even be they reason why ag may make an AA GOTY

  73. Lena on November 28th, 2009 10:14 am

Lauren, I agree with you on that.

Ivy, Jess, and Sonali (although she’s not what we normally think of as “Asian”) have been the only Asian characters, while Addy’s the only AA character. Actually, they stay away from Latinas too, as only Josefina and Marisol were Latina. And then there’s poor NA Kaya all alone.
