Here is more info on the Lanie contest:
I know that you already now most of this, I am just clearing some stuff up for you.
Age group: 8-13
Contest start and end date: Jan. 1st to March 15th
For almost everyone:
Bird
Seed or pinecone
Spider or spiderweb
Bud on a tree branch
Something that looks like a letter of the alphabet
If you live where it snows:
Detail of a snowflake
Animal tracks in the snow
Interesting icicle
Tree with no leaves
Plant peeking through the snow
If you live by the beach:
Interesting sand pattern
Seashell
Kelp or seaweed
Driftwood on the shore
Creature in a shell
If you live in the desert:
Rock or sand pattern
Interesting rock or rock formation
Prickly cactus
Plant growing on a rock
Colorful sunset
You have to take five picture of any five of these things, not all of them.
There are 5 grand prize winners that get Lanie’s whole collection and 20 first prize winners that get the Lanie doll and book.
You also have to write kind of like a paragraph 1000 letters or under that starts with “I am inspired by nature when……….” then you upload the photos on to your pc and type up your paragraph and send it, basically E-mail it to AG

Just because she has green eyes on the cover, doesn’t mean the doll will. Remeber Ruthie? The books clearly show her with brown eyes, yet the doll has gray.

oh i wanted to know if they would extend the age to 14 for the contest because I literally just turned 14 and i don’t think it’s fair I can’t participate. I mean the age is 8+. I remailed them. It’s pretty unrealistic, but if I want a change I have to make the change, now those are the true words of a GOTY!
I emailed them back saying I knew about the contest from the magazine, so they can’t tell me what they told me again. “We cannot release…blah blah blah.”
I was just really upset, because I rock at photography and writing (not to brag) so i think I could really win.

Their answers are always stupid. They use form letters (pre-written) so they’re never helpful at all. Just evasive and long-winded.

Lily I think they think since im just a “kid” they can get away with that but no i emailed them back saying i wanted an answer and i knew about the contest. its like they try to make you feel stupid.
ok so i got 50 dollars form my grandma and i still have 124 dollars in my birthday bank account! That makes 174 dollars! Maybe I’ll get her! I also just found out i have over 500 dollars in my savings!

I would NOT sell felicity for two reasons, one, she COULD go to archives anytime considering the fact she is ONE of the first and also I think she is very pretty and since you already have enough money you shouldn’t
