There has been quite a bit of discussion in the comments section on other Doll Diaries posts about a line of dolls called A Life of Faith. The Life of Faith collection consists of five different 18″ dolls based on characters/stories from the 1800s with a faith based/religious belief system. Each doll has a series of books, a wardrobe and accessories.
One of our contributors, Lena, sent in photos of two of her Life of Faith dolls, Elsie and Laylie.

It means “fools laught at Latin language” (loosely translated)
yep………what lena said
Haha Selena
I like latin because it is the base of most languages……so if you know latin words….a lot of the time you can figure out words other languages
Actually, not all European languages are based on Latin. Only Romani, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, and French are, and some English words are based on it.
Other languages were made by “uncivilized” tribes such as the Germans and the Slovaks (which make up what is now Czech, Poland, Ukrain, Russia, and all the counties in between)
You are right though…. I find myself often thinking about some English words, like insomnia, and giggling that I know where they came from, the Latin word somnus. Also, I noticed it helps me understand the many Spanish that live in my neighborhood, and is helping me much in learning Italian.
BTW I wasn’t trying to insult Germans and Slovaks, I just meant that’s how the Romans saw them, as uncivilized. I myself am Polish, and actually speak the language.
