Not too long ago I shared the announcement of a new line of mini dolls from The Madame Alexander Doll Company called Travel Friends. These sweet little 7″, articulated cuties are now available on the Madame Alexander website and other specialty toy stores and sell for $16.95 each. When we visited The Madame Alexander Doll Company offices last week, they were kind enough to let us each pick one of the Travel Friends to take home with us.
Being the Irish girl that I am, it should come as NO SURPRISE that I chose Haigh, the Travel Friends doll from Ireland. While I plan on doing a full review complete with side by sides with the AG minis, I had fun photographing Haigh and Bonjour while visiting my parent’s farm this weekend and couldn’t wait to share the photos. Haigh started her adventure on the china shelf doing a little pose for me.
Next it was to the plants to do some climbing. The Travel Friends have really cool articulation – their elbows and knees bend, but the joints kind of snap into place as you bend them – it is a bit difficult to explain. They also have rooted hair, painted eyes and hard vinyl bodies.
My favorite photo – because life is all about friendship, loyalty and LOVE!
Meanwhile out in the garden, French friend Bonjour has found Lottie, who is also sporting a nautical look but seems to have forgotten her shoes.
Bonjour is doing her best to show off her posing, but she does need some help balancing.
The Travel Friends have very sweet little faces which I find to be somewhat a mix of the 18″ Favorite Friends faces and the classic Madame Alexander doll face.
Bonjour and Lottie have found a turtle to ride!
The garden turtle seems happy to have a new friend!
I think the Travel Friends are a great new addition to the mini doll choices on the market. I love that they are poseable and portable.
Stay tuned for another look at these dolls! What do you think so far?
