As the summer comes to and end, everyone is rushing around getting ready for “Back to School”! This week we are joining in a DIY Back to School Blog Hop featuring ideas using Rit Dyes and Buttons Galore products. Recently a bunch of fun grown up girls got together for a pajama party and they all dyed their own pajamas, along with lots of other stuff. Saige crashed the party with an outfit from Springfield Dolls with a request to dye it for her first day of school. She chose Fuchsia and Purple dyes and got to work.
When she was done dyeing, she took it outside and put in on the clothesline to dry!
When it was dry, she sewed a couple of Laura Kelly buttons from Buttons Galore with Coats and Clark embroidery floss. to embellish it. She borrowed the cut off hemline from a grownup shirt and used it to make matching bows for her pigtails.
Then she put it in a special drawer in her dresser save for the first day of school which has finally arrived. Isn’t she adorable?
If you are interested in dyeing fun things for you or your dolls using Rit, there are lots of great ideas and directions on the Rit Dye Website. If you want to check out the other projects in the blog hop, you will be amazed at the creativity and fun.
The Camp Doll Diaries activity for the day will be posted later this morning and here is the link to the BIG GIVEAWAY for the Rit Dye blog hop – a Rafflecopter giveaway.
Happy Back to School,
